JNVR Apparel - Aaron - Male Base V1
JNVR Apparel - Aaron - Male Base Mesh V1.0
After a long time, I have finally finished my base model project for VRChat and other VR multiverse social platforms. This base mesh has had a lot of love go into it, from sculpting, retopology, optimizing, along with hand painted texture work, carefully hand painting weight paints for armature, etc, etc.
(NOTE: This can be used for NeoS, ChilloutVR, and other social platforms with tweaking, obviously.)
This base was truly built from the ground up. I found a lot of the base mesh's on the market were highly unoptimized, their topology did not play well with animations and shape keys, along with UV sets all over the place, and just required more clean up and fixing then actually just creating. That is where this base mesh comes in.
Features
From the ground up, this base model not only comes with a hand painted texture set, but it comes with a head. Yup, you get a head with it, and no, it is not in an anime style. For those who do want to use their own head with it, The head can be simply removed, and the rig is still in place.
I wanted to accomplish a couple of things with this base. Optimization was a key factor, but also options for direction, and add my own style and choice of how I look. There is so many anime themed base's on the market and in VRC, that I wanted to appeal to another demographic who did not want to look like an anime character. So here we are, but the base works with basically everything, but I wanted to add the head regardless. Anyways, onto point note details and features!
- Fully rigged & ready for customization, data transfer, hair, etc.
- Head included & also hand painted
- 5 Materials set
- 18.5k polygons with the head
- 14k polygons without the head
- 2k textures but were compressed and stripped down for lower byte imprint
- Workable topology based on industry standard topology approaches for animated characters & movement kept in mind as well.
- Room for possibilities and expansion
Technical Features
- Sculpted in Zbrush, then retopology performed by hand in blender to make sure polycount was not too high or too low.
- Everything was built by me from the ground up.
- Base is built to give you room to build it up, so you don't start at the cap, and work your way down, but you work your way up. This made more sense to me as if you want to add polygons its easier to do so then to remove them.
- The face was meticulously handled so it was as shape key friendly as possible with little to no stretching of textures.
- UV's were manually placed and adjusted using a texture grid to make sure texel density and texture fidelity is kept in mind.
- Seams, topology & object splits were intentionally put where they were for future customizable areas so the base can be reused and upgraded along with keeping textures and seams in mind.
- multi-resolution friendly so if you want a completely bonkers poly count, you can if you like, or build on it as is. It is built to be map friendly and shader friendly.
- Shader friendly and set for use with my favorite shader Poiyomi (or use what you like)
Terms of use before you buy
Honestly, I wish I could just leave this to common sense, but from the horror stories I have heard from other creators & artist's in the space, I will do my best to explain the Do's and Do Nots:
you CAN: (Things you can do with the base mesh)
- Use the base mesh to build an avatar for resale by adding new skins, clothing, hair, accessories, etc. that you created yourself or other artists have given permission with their items.
- Use for personal use for building avatars for yourself.
- Create skins or skin packs for this base mesh to sell, but DO NOT include the base mesh itself in the skin files. link back to the page of the base mesh instead.
- Show and work on skins for this base mesh or use the base mesh on streams, in YouTube videos, etc. with an avatar you built for yourself or for later release as a commercial avatar.
- Create components such as new ears, NSFW attachments, nails, new nose, etc, etc. but DO NOT include the base mesh itself in those files, link back to the page of the base mesh instead.
- Swap the head to another base mesh not made by me if you wish, but rules still apply for that piece.
- Swap a different head to put on the base mesh made by you or another creator who have given you permission to do so, please check their terms of use as well.
- Use this base mesh for creating public avatars
- Make free avatars with it, and promotional avatars for communities, just give me credit and link back to the store page if you can, and make sure it is a fully edited and complete avatar.
you CANNOT: (Things you cannot do with the base mesh)
- Resell this base mesh as is back on the market. This also includes just making a new skin for it and reselling. For making skins, see above.
- Share these files with others as is, I am a broke artist, and need the money. Send them to this page instead.
- Use the base mesh as is to upload to VRC or any other multiverse platform. This is NOT an avatar…yet. You need to put clothes on it, and other stuff.
- Sell the basemesh as it is, edited or not edited.
- Sell an avatar with this base mesh IF you are allowing your customers to use the base for commercial use or resale franken-edits. Personal use is fine because well… they own the avatar, so they are probably going to edit it.
Other Notes:
- Product is non-refundable
- Everything in the package is subject to these terms of use, including the textures
- You have to credit me for every creation made with the base mesh and link back to the base mesh page please and thank you. It helps me, and shows character. Also, it helps as well if you make a skin, ears, shirts, etc. that fit this base, and you don't like to the base itself
Conclusion
Obviously a lot of this is common sense, but had to be said. Either way, for those who do purchase this, I thank you for the support and I hope you get what you can out of this, And it helps you realize the avatar you want to create for others or yourself.
If this does well, I will be doing updates and adding more content to it. I am considering doing some different skins, clothing, hair, eye packs, ears, etc you name it for it. So we will see after launch.
Much love,
~Jackie Hex
